1. JOHN LEWIS

The chain is owned by the John Lewis Partnership, which was created by Spedan Lewis, son of the founder, John Lewis, in 1929. The first John Lewis store was opened in 1864 in Oxford Street, London.

Asda Stores Ltd is a British supermarket retailer, headquartered in Leeds, West Yorkshire.The company was founded in 1949.Besides its core supermarkets, the company also offers a number of other services, including financial services and a mobile phone provider. Asda's marketing promotions are usually based solely on price, and since 2015 Asda has promoted itself under the slogan "Save Money. Live Better".

3. SAINSBURY'S

Sainsbury's is the second largest chain of supermarkets in the United Kingdom with a 16.9% share of the supermarket sector. Founded in 1869, by John James Sainsbury with a shop in Drury Lane, London. In 1995, Tesco overtook Sainsbury's to become the market leader, and Asda became the second largest in 2003.

 

4. JOULES

Joules is a British clothing company which sells clothing and homeware products inspired by British country lifestyles. Tom Joule described its business model in 2011 as creating clothing with "colour and fun and entertainment". The company established its own clothing line in 1999 and began to open shops in the 2000s. As of 2018, the company had 123 stores and a turnover of £185.9m.

Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG is a German global discount supermarket chain, based in Neckarsulm, Germany that operates over 10,000 stores across Europe and the United States. Lidl is the chief competitor of the similar German discount chain Aldi in several markets

Aldi is the common brand of two German family owned discount supermarket chains with over 10,000 stores in 20 countries, and an estimated combined turnover of more than €50 billion.

7. MARKS & SPENCER

Marks & Spencer Group plc is a major British multinational retailer headquartered in the City of Westminster, London.It specialises in the selling of clothing, home products and luxury food products. M&S was founded in 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer in Leeds. M&S currently has 979 stores across the U.K. including 615 that only sell food products.

8. VERY

Very (also known as Very.co.uk) is a British online retailer with headquarters in Speke, Liverpool. The brand was launched in the UK in July 2009 as part of Shop Direct. Very had formerly been known as Littlewoods Direct. The original Littlewoods brand was a shopping catalogue and retail business headquartered in Liverpool.

9. ARGOS

Argos Ltd is a British catalogue retailer operating in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and a subsidiary of Sainsbury's. The company trades both through physical shops and online, with over 845 retail shops, 29 million yearly shop customers, and nearly a billion online visitors per annum, making it one of the largest high street retailers in the United Kingdom.

10. BARBOUR

J. Barbour & Sons Ltd. is a British luxury and lifestyle brand founded by John Barbour in 1894, that designs, manufactures and markets waxed cotton outerwear, ready-to-wear, clothing, footwear and accessories for men, women and children.

11. BOOTS

Boots UK is a health and beauty retailer and pharmacy chain in the United Kingdom, Ireland, other territories. The company operates almost 2,500 shops ranging from local pharmacies to large health and beauty shops. Their shops are primarily located on the high streets and in shopping centres. It sells many health and beauty products, and also provides optician and hearing care services.

12. DEBENHAMS

Debenhams is a British multinational retailer operating under a department store format in the United Kingdom and Ireland with franchise stores in other countries. The company was founded in the eighteenth century as a single store in London and has now grown to 178 locations across the UK, Ireland and Denmark. It sells a range of clothing, household items and furniture.

13. MACY'S

Macy's (originally R. H. Macy & Co., stylized as macy*s) is an American department store chain founded in 1858 by Rowland Hussey Macy. As of 2015, Macy's was the largest U.S. department store company by retail sales. As of February 2019, there were 584 full-line stores with the Macy's nameplate in operation throughout the United States. Macy's Herald Square, at Herald Square in the Manhattan borough of New York City, acts as the company's flagship store.
